Giants Suspend Embattled 2nd Year Cornerback Eli Apple
Eli Apple’s second season as a pro might actually be worse than the 2017 Giants season. He has had a litany of issues this season. There is talk of him having family issues, but what family doesn’t. He most notably has been inactive for 4 games this season, and Pro Bowl safety Landon Collins recently blasted him on the radio. Now He is suspended for the season finale.
“There’s only just one corner that … needs to grow, and we all know who that is,” said Collins, one of the more popular players in the locker room. “That would be the only person I would change out of our secondary group. Besides, the other two guys, [Rodgers-Cromartie] and [Jenkins], I love those two guys. They play hard. They love what they do.
“But that first pick … he’s a cancer.”
This made it very clear the problems Eli Apple was having in his second season. Collins apologized a day later for making the comments public.
I met with Coach Spags and Eli this morning and I apologized for the things I said yesterday. I never stop supporting my brother/teammate Eli and the rest of my teammates as we move forward. Just want him to know I'm always here for him ?@EliApple13

The Giants have now suspended all three of their top corners at some point this season. Hopefully, the Giants and Eli Apple can move on from this situation and this season. Eli Apple needs to do some major soul searching this off-season and come back with a different focus and attitude. He has all the physical gifts in the world and it would be a shame for a jersey kid to flame out so quickly.
