Giants Grab Saquon Barkley With 2nd Pick
The Giants ignored all the analytics and went with a Running Back with the 2nd overall pick. There will be plenty of people who don’t like the pick and wanted a QB, but Saquon Barkley was the highest graded player in this draft. The Giants haven’t had a 1,000-yard rusher since Ahmad Bradshaw in 2012. The Giants have been ranked in the bottom 10 rushing offense for the past 5 years they need a spark. Saquon Barkley can be that spark.
There has also been a lot of talk about the issues the Giants O-line has had in recent years. The new brass has addressed the offensive line with. The additions of Nate Solder and Patrick Omameh. Also, I don’t believe Ereck Flowers plays another snap for the NY Giants. Also if the Giants can add G Will Hernandez today The offensive line should be much improved over what we have seen the past few years. Which will Help Eli, Saquon and the rest of the offense. The addition of Saquon will not only help the offense, but it will help the defense as a result of the offense holding the ball longer.
There will be plenty of naysayers “We Should’ve taken a QB!” but in the end, Dave Gettleman and Pat Shurmur are building the Giants the way they want. So for the 2018 season, it’s Eli, OBJ and Saquon Barkley.
